Judge Diana Gonzalez-Whyte

Judge Diana Gonzalez-Whyte serves as a Judge of the Miami-Dade County Court in Florida’s Eleventh Judicial Circuit. She was elected to the bench in 2018 and made history as the first Colombian-American judge elected in the State of Florida.

Judge Gonzalez-Whyte currently presides in the County Criminal Division at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building in Miami, where she handles criminal matters within the jurisdiction of the county court.

Before joining the bench, Judge Gonzalez-Whyte built a diverse legal career in South Florida, practicing law in areas including criminal defense, family law, and civil litigation. She also served as a public defender, gaining significant courtroom experience advocating for clients in the criminal justice system.

A graduate of St. Thomas University School of Law, Judge Gonzalez-Whyte remains engaged in the legal community and frequently participates in professional and civic initiatives that support the administration of justice and the advancement of the legal profession.
