Judge Javier Enriquez

Javier A. Enriquez is a Circuit Court Judge in Miami-Dade County, Florida, where he sits in the domestic violence division. He was previously in the circuit criminal division, and when he was a County Court Judge, he presided over the misdemeanor Jail Diversion Program and mental health calendars, ensuring justice but providing court supervision in order to stabilize some of our community’s most vulnerable populations, while keeping our community safe.

Judge Enriquez’s past experience as General Counsel for Florida’s Department of Children and Families, provided him with an opportunity to lead over 630 attorneys and support staff in practice areas of child welfare, substance abuse and mental health, economic self-sufficiency, employment, domestic violence, and administrative law. Prior to this, Judge Enriquez used to concentrate his practice on domestic and international, marital and family law, and family law mediation. His legal experience also extended to election law, commercial and employment litigation. In 2019, he was honored as a Super Lawyer Rising Star and as a James Madison Institute Leadership Fellow.

A native of Miami, Judge Enriquez graduated cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law, where he was also the Litigation Skills Program Marco A. Vasquez Scholarship recipient. Throughout his time at the University of Miami School of Law, he was the President of the Federalist Society chapter, and an Associate Justice serving on the SBA Supreme Court. In 2014, Judge Enriquez was honored in Who’s Who Amongst Students in America’s Universities and Colleges.

Prior to this prestigious recognition, Judge Enriquez also earned his Bachelors and Masters in Public Administration from the University of Miami. At the University of Miami, he double majored in Political Science and Criminology, and was an active member of the Alpha Kappa Delta International Sociology Honor Society, the Alpha Phi Sigma Criminal Justice Honor Society, and the Phi Kappa Psi Fraternity.

For nearly a decade, Judge Enriquez has been actively involved in numerous charitable and philanthropic organizations. He has sat on the Board of Directors for the Knights of Columbus Coral Gables Council, Gulliver Schools Alumni Council, and the United Nations Women’s Miami Chapter.

Judge Enriquez is admitted to practice before all state courts in the State of Florida and the Supreme Court of the United States and was previously admitted to practice law before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and the United States District Court for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Florida. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.
