I am a recent graduate of St. Thomas University College of Law.
I was born and raised in Miami to an American mother and a Mexican father. Although I always knew I would become an attorney, I began my professional career as a fine artist. I attended Miami’s premier art and design magnet school, Design and Architecture Senior High. While in school, I studied urban art and murals at a local non-profit organization, PATH To HipHop (“PATH”).
While studying at PATH, I began an apprenticeship with Daniel “Krave” Fila. Over the next fifteen years I would eventually return to PATH as an arts instructor and as Mr. Fila’s studio manager. Before graduating high school I opened my own graphic design business, and began painting murals as a professional painter in the Wynwood arts district of Miami. As a young adult I studied fine art and art history at Hamilton College in New York on a full tuition merit based scholarship as a POSSE Leadership Scholar.
In addition to my love of art I have also always been deeply interested in the law. My father is an attorney, my mother is a retired judge, and many of my family in Mexico are lawyers. Exposure to the practice of the law from a young age has offered me the insight necessary to appreciate and value the legal profession.
