Judge Betsy Alvarez-Zane

Judge Betsy Alvarez-Zane serves as a Judge of the Miami-Dade County Court in Florida’s Eleventh Judicial Circuit. She was elected to the bench in 2018 and assumed office in 2019.

Judge Alvarez-Zane currently presides in the County Criminal Division at the Richard E. Gerstein Justice Building in Miami, where she handles criminal matters within the jurisdiction of the county court.

Before joining the bench, Judge Alvarez-Zane practiced law in Miami as a solo litigator handling insurance, family, and traffic matters, bringing years of courtroom experience to her judicial role.

In addition to her judicial duties, Judge Alvarez-Zane is active in the broader legal community and has held leadership positions within the Conference of County Court Judges of Florida, reflecting her commitment to the administration of justice and professional service.
