Judge Catalina Avalos

Judge Catalina M. Avalos serves on the Broward County Court in Florida’s Seventeenth Judicial Circuit. Appointed to the bench in 2022, she is widely recognized as the first Colombian-born judge appointed in the State of Florida.

Before joining the judiciary, Judge Avalos built a distinguished legal career in South Florida, including years in private practice and leadership within the legal community. Her professional work reflects a longstanding commitment to public service and the fair administration of justice.
