Judge Jessica M. Marra

The Honorable Jessica M. Marra took the bench as a Circuit Court Judge in 2023. She is a family court judge presiding over 1,000 family law cases of all types including paternity, domestic violence, and divorce. She is a Cuban-American South Florida native and a native Spanish speaker.

Prior to taking the bench, Judge Marra practiced right here in this building as a Partner at Kelley Kronenberg for close to 10 years, practicing in the area of General Liability handling matters of negligence, negligent security, and other State and Federal civil matters as well as workers compensation and administrative matters.

Prior to her role at Kelley Kronenberg, Judge Marra served as an Assistant State Attorney for the Broward County State Attorney’s Office where she prosecuted serious cases of varying degree and tried numerous cases to verdict.

Judge Marra holds a law degree from Nova Southeastern University where she graduated cum laude, was elected president of the Student Bar Association and was a member of the Nova Trial Association along with numerous other student body organizations. She has been admitted to practice in the United States District Court- Middle District of Florida.

She was previously an executive board member and director of the Broward County Hispanic Bar Association and is currently one of the judicial liaisons for the organization. She has also previously served as a board member of the Broward County Bar Association and the West sub-section of the Broward County Bar Association. Judge Marra has been recognized as a Hispanic Woman of Distinction, a Girl Scouts Lead the Way Honoree, and received numerous awards for her legal work and professionalism including “Best Lawyers: One to Watch” 2021, Broward County Bar Association’s “40 under 40” 2021, Business Edition of Best Lawyers, “Women in the Law”, South Florida Business & Wealth “Up & Comer”, and one of Fort Lauderdale Illustrated 2022 Top Lawyers in Broward County, 2021.

Judge Marra also serves in one of her proudest roles, as a “Heart Mom” to her 7 year old Heart Warrior daughter, Charlotte, who after resiliently undergoing years of treatment and three open-heart surgeries despite having other neurological challenges, perseveres to this day, giving Judge Marra all of the strength and empathy she has and uses while on the bench. Charlotte and Judge Marra’s husband, Marc, are what give her the ability and the strength to serve in this role.
