Chelsy Mesino
Hello! My name is Chelsy Mesino, and I’m a third year at Quinnipiac University, School of Law. I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and identify as a second-generation immigrant. Both my parents immigrated to Miami from Barranquilla, Colombia. It was their experiences and hurdles that greatly shaped and propelled my legal aspirations.
Prior to law school, I graduated from Florida International University with a Bachelors in Psychology, and I practiced as a Registered Behavioral Technician where I had the honor of being a therapist for children with Autism for 2 years.
In law school, my interests are heavily rooted in Real Estate transactions, Business Litigation, and Tax Litigation or Transactions. I was a member of the QU Tax Clinic where I represented low-income individuals in tax liability disputes against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). I am Vice President of the QU Latino Law Student Association, where our goal is to further the connection between Latino Law Students, Connecticut attorneys, and the public. I was a finalist in the Quinnipiac University 2023, Intramural Mock Trial Competition and am a member of the QU Law Mock Trial Team. I am, also, Treasure for Outlaws, a student run organization to promote acceptance and connection between the law and the LGBTQ+ community, for the Business Law Society, and for the QU’s Women’s Law Student Association.
