Juan Ramirez Sierra
Hello, I’m Juan Ramirez Sierra, currently pursuing a JD at the University of Miami School of Law. I was born in Pereira, Colombia to two paisas and immigrated to the US at a young age.
My academic journey began in Boston at Bunker Hill Community College before I transferred to the University of Florida in Gainesville. During my time in Boston, I gained valuable experience as a Securities Valuation Intern in Custodial banking, shadowed paralegals in boutique firms, and served as a Student Mentor at a diverse city college.
These early professional experiences ignited my passion for building connections among communities and the world, a passion I aim to channel in my future career.
At the University of Florida, I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Economics. Among my most memorable experiences at UF was conducting research on Puerto Rico’s territorial status in relation to the US Constitution, and representing the university in Rugby.
Most recently, I’ve been actively involved in immigration law and served as President of a Nonprofit organization dedicated to representing Colombians.
In approaching the law, I am guided by the same commitment to fairness and equality that I was met with when I came to this country, reflecting my belief that we are all created equal.
