Laura Velez

My name is Laura Velez, and I am a second-year law student at Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law. I earned my undergraduate degree in International Affairs with a concentration in Political Science from Florida State University. During law school, I have had the privilege of serving on the executive boards of the Hispanic Student Bar Association and Phi Alpha Delta, as well as working as a teaching assistant for Legal Research and Writing.

I was born and raised in Miami to a proud Colombian family – my mother is from Cali and my father is from Medellín – and I take great pride in my heritage. I look forward to connecting with others in the Colombian legal community.
